Asella is the capital of Arsi Zone. It is located at 166 km from Finfine but 75 km south west of Adama town. The total area of Arsi Zone on the basis of data obtained from the map clipped from data base of Oromia Finance and Economic development office is 20,982.11 Km2. This accounts for about 7% of the total area of the regional national State of Oromia. Currently, Arsi zone is divided into 26 districts, including two especial Administrative towns, namely Asela and Bokoji. The Zone is sub-divided into 590 rural and 58 urban administrative Kebeles.
